Esports offers outlet for Logansport students | News | –

In the loft of the old Logansport High School library, students participate in a relatively new kind of sport.

There’s no ball or court in this facility, no end zone or net — just computers.

Welcome to the world of esports.

Dozens of high schools across Indiana have started programs, including Logansport, whose program began last year.

“Our principal noticed that a lot of schools around the state were starting their own esports programs, and he was interested in getting that going,” said Bryan Hole, who coaches the players and teaches AP Studio Art. “Me, Mr. McCord and Mr. Packard were also really interested in participating in the esports thing happening in our school. We did our research and looked into what we needed … to get started and joined the Indiana High School Esports Network.”
